Bad online promotions, in the form of random, blanket posting of links, images, songs, music or add/follow requests, are an unwanted and unappreciated violation of one’s e-space, and goes against the most basic networking commandments. We all hate them, but maybe we can help. Here’s a canned reply you can can link people to, when you or your online profile is a victim of random, uninvited posts/links.

Artists should be promoting links to sites that have featured their work instead of sending visitors directly to YouTube or file sharing sites. This allows people to see/hear their work, and also shows that other people are paying attention to them, always a plus when marketing yourself.
